30g Hex of 100% pure bees wax, locally produced by bees that forage the hills, fields and hedgerows hereabouts.
Beeswax has been described as man’s first plastic. Since prehistory beeswax has had a wide variety of uses as a lubricant, polish, preserving agent and waterproofing. It has been found in the tombs of Egypt, Roman ruins, wrecked Viking ships and Medieval Churches.
Within archery its application is for bow strings, rubbing into shafts as a quick fix waterproof and as an ingredient for ‘primitive’ and ‘bush craft’ uses such as pine pitch. Bees wax never goes bad, it can be heated and reused if uncontaminated.
