Description

The original GT-PRO16 was solid black but the addition of a pinstripe highlight colour can bring a touch of indulgent personalisation to this popular premium bow string. These dual colour pinstripe strings are inspired by the host of sweets we loved as kids. Are you still a fan of the fizz whizz, dips, dadbs, strawberry boot laces or choco twist? Everyone has a favourite! Maybe the choice is not so fanciful and its an alternative to your club or team colours.

All GT-PRO16 bow strings are high end, high performance*, double loop Flemish twist, built for speed and stability. Custom made by hand with care, from the highest quality fast flight/spectra materials available on the market today for low creep. Each is triple waxed throughout the build process, pre-stretched before serving and then served under 200lb+ of tension with a nylon material specifically designed for the needs of traditional archers.

Shire Archery in collaboration with GT brings a sound knowledge and expert touch to all our hand crafted bow strings, which are made here in the UK. Please leave in the order note any pertinent bow details such as the make & model, exact bow length nock to nock or poundage on the fingers. You may also like to detail your old string loop size***, string length on the bow or even send it in to us. All is of great advantage to custom making your string. If you have any questions or need any help do not hesitate to ask.

  1. My AFB is an “Oakridge”, 64 inches from Nock to Nock & pulling 45 pounds. Please confirm that Fast Flight materials for the bowstring is suitable for my bow.

    1. The hybrid bow from Oak Ridge – Dymond Wood in the handle, with limbs of Maple and black fiberglass. 62 inch bow. (60″ string) Supplied with a Flemish Dynema string

Dynema and Fastflight are the commercial names for High Modulus Polyethylene (HDPE).

    1. Braced on the bow simply means the length of the string under strain when set at the correct/desired brace height.
For those who like to fiddle or are making bows they may wish to have strings made that are not orthodox, not all strings/bows conform to the -2/-3 ect (1/2″ will be added soon).

For a recurve 62″ bow it ort be 59″ on the bow.

  2. I have a standard recurve bow with a core gonexo 25 ” riser and 30 lb draw ILF limbs used for target only what string type and actual size do you recommend.

    1. fternoon Jim.

What is the total length of the bow from nock slot to nock slot measured along the bows back following the curves? Not end to end. (the side facing away from you / towards the target) Its critical that this is done acuratly. A recurve string in FF if often -3″ total bow length?

What kind of limbs do you have there?
If you know the riser and limb length combined this is an excellent double check.

  3. Hi there. I have an English longbow, 79″ knock to knock and 60lbs draw weight. I have been told the brace height should be around 5 1/2″ – 6″.

How can I determine the length of the braced string ‘on the bow’ from this?

    Many thanks.
    Robin
