Description
The Carlisle Hound carving is of a long thin hunting hound laying down, curled up and licking its self with one eye half open in concentration. Taken from the choir screens at Carlisle Cathedral, circa 1400. Like many of the carvings from Carlisle Cathedral it shows every day ordinary people and animals and their importance to the values of the church and community in the medieval society. The fine detail of the original Carlisle Hound has been captured in this excellent reproduction of a great piece of Medieval English craftsmanship. Designed to be hung on display this cast resin copy of the original makes a magnificent focal point.
