This small carving is of a Forester or perhaps a poacher as they were often one and the same, is carrying a bird he’s caught over his shoulder, that looks like a partridge; a fine example of every day life as it was in the middle ages. Taken from the original medieval carvings found on the misericords and supporters in the choir stalls of Beverley Minster. A great little piece of Medieval English craftsmanship, the fine detail of the original Forester has been captured in this excellent cast resin reproduction which is designed to be hung on display.
